Embrace feeling shitty

We are all too comfortable! We are taught to avoid pain since we are born. Our parents protected us - or tried to - at all costs from anything that might cause harm.

Because of that, we grow up and always run away from anything that seems like danger or discomfort, and for the most part that is a good thing.

It becomes an issue when real life happens and we need to deal with it. The pharma industry is prompt to help us. Tons of anti-depressants, anti-anxiety, anti-pain, anti-feelings drugs out there.

And, at the smallest signal of emotional discomfort, we take some of those magic pills, and cover up whatever is that we are feeling.

It’s definitely a life-hack! It saves you from pain, it saves you from having to deal with yourself and your emotions. It also saves you from living up to your potential.

You see, depression and anxiety are a real thing, and sometimes medication is the only way to get out of there.

Other times, the earlier signals of depression and anxiety are our own mind/body warnings that some things are not right, and that we need to deal with it.

Sometimes we are not being true to our values, and it starts to hurt our conscience.

Sometimes we change our beliefs, and that’s part of growth, though it’s uncomfortable.

Sometimes we feel like shit, like imposters, and maybe we are shit - we just need to act and do better.

Sometimes we feel distracted, and we need to take rest.

Sometimes we feel out of touch, and we need to prioritize.

Sometimes we feel anxious, and we need to ask for help on how to prioritize.

Sometimes we feel jittery, and we need to workout.

Facing yourself goes against your nature and everything that you were ever thought, but it’s ultimately what makes you different from the other animals.
